The bathroom ceiling in my rented flat near Stoke had been covered in mould for almost a year. There was no working extractor fan and i had reported it to my landlord at least five or six times. Each time i was told it was condensation and that i should open windows more. I do not accept that explanation and neither did the surveyor who eventually inspected the property. They visited, documented the mould, helped me challenge the landlord's position and ensured both the extractor fan was repaired and the mould was properly treated. Compensation for the period it had been left was also arranged.
